Alberta Marie (Wilton) Eovaldi, 91, passed away 3:57 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, in peaceful rest at the Westside Rehab and Nursing Center in West Frankfort, IL.

Alberta was born February 11, 1921 in Murphysboro, IL to Frederick J. and Estella (Etherton) Wilton. She was one of eleven children to the Wilton’s .

As a young woman, Alberta enjoyed dancing and putting her personal artistic touch on life. She loved sewing and embroidery in her later years, but always carried a fondness of art throughout her life.

Alberta met and married Frank Ceasar Eovaldi of Murphysboro on June 2, 1951, and remained his loving companion until his death on January 19, 1989. She devoted her life to her husband and their two sons Frank and Mark, and to their grandchildren Franklin, Thomas, and Marin.

Bert lived a full and happy life. She touched several people with her caring nature and strong wit. She will be missed and remembered with great fondness and the highest respect.

Alberta is survived by her son, Mark and his wife Karen of Carterville and their son Will; her three grandchildren; Franklin, his wife Jamie and their children Franklin and Wyatt., her grandson Thomas and his son Devin, and her granddaughter Marin all of Murphysboro; her sister Peggy Means and several nieces, nephews from all across the region, and a special mention of her close friend Linda Garrett of Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her six brothers Dwight, Millard “Jimmy”, Arthur, Glen, Carl and William Wilton, her three sisters Nina Higgins, Mabel Palisch Dillon, and Lenora Bernice Wilton, her husband Frank Ceaser Eovaldi and her son Frank Wilton Eovaldi.

The family would like to thank Westside Rehab and Nursing Center and TIP Hospice for their care and support through this passage of life. We cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are that you provided our loving Bert with such comfort and dignity in her final days. You have touched our hearts and lives, thank you.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro, and burial will be at St. Andrew Cemetery, next to her husband and son. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Community Animal Rescue. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
