Description:
Deed of gift from Rachel Etherton widow of Micajah Etherton Decd. ___ have thought proper to make the following deed of gift to my son Micajah H. Etherton for the following reasons. XXX [unknown word] My intention is to marry & may git placed to that what property I have my be taken by my husbands debts & being out of debt myself I think proper to give to my son Micajah H. Etherton
of which property is my owne of clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever as there is no debts against me which property I have acquired myself & make this deed of gift in good faith & not to the preduce of any person. Signed sealed & acknowledged the 17th July 1845.

State Of Illinois, Jackson County - Be it remembered that this day personally appeared before me the undersigned Justice of the Peace Rachel Etherton of said county & acknowledged the above deed of gift to her son Micajah H. Etherton to be voluntary act & deed for the use & purpose therein mentioned. Witnessed my hand & seal July the 17 A.D. 1845.
