Description: James (Jimmy) Ellis, 63 of Herrin, IL passed away at 3:30 am on May 11, 2012 at Helia Care in Carbondale, IL. He was born April 7, 1949, to James and Eula Mae (Hagler) Ellis . James worked at Moniger Orchards in Murphysboro and at Greenburg Salvage Yard in Murphysboro. He is survived by 1 son, Billy Joe Ellis of DuQuoin and 1 daughter, Linda K. Anders of DuQuoin. his beloved grandchildren, Kyle Webb, Melody Webb, Marlon Morgan, K-Sha Morgan, Alexandria Williams, Arianna Hargett, Hannah Ellis and Daymien Ellis, his loving brother, Roger Lee Ellis of Murphysboro and his loving sister, Sharon Compton of Murphysboro and his precious nephew, Timmy Tolbert, whom he resided with for 24 years, many other nieces and nephews and other relatives. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant sons, Robert and Dale Ellis. Visitation will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10:00 to 11:00 am at Crain- Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home. Funeral services for Jimmy Ellis will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at Crain-Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home with Rev. Ruby Popejoy Officiating. Interment will be at Murdale Gardens of Memory at a later date.
