Mrs. Maude Etherton, 79, of Pomona, died Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, Murphysboro.
Mrs. Etherton was born Oct. 5, 1888, in Pomona, a daughter of Andrew J. and Margaret Runion Gregory. She was married Oct. 26, 1908, in Murphyboro, to Henry Etherton.
She was a member of the Pomona Baptist Church.
Mrs. Etherton leaves sons, Harvey of Pomona, Robert of East St. Louis, Homer of Cobden, and Dennis of Decatur; daughters, Helen Rendleman of Cahokia, Dorothy King of Cushing, Okla., and Mae Marcotte of Houston, Tex.; sister, Lillian Barnhart of Concord, Calif.; brothers, Dewitt Gregory of Grand Tower, Everett Gregory of Los Angeles, Calif., and Willard Gregory of Concord, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Walker Funeral Home in Alto Pass. The Rev. Clifford Neil, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cobden, will officiate.
Burial will be in Hagler Cemetery.
