Maryetta 'Betty' Tuttle died at age 75 on Monday, November 1, 1999, at her Murphysboro home. She was born in Murphysboro on January 26, 1924, the daughter of Jonathan and Cecille (Hunsaker) Douglas. She married Clarence Tuttle in Jackson, Missouri on October 11, 1941. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Etta 'Cheta' Green of Carterville; one son, Michael Tuttle of Murphysboro; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Dick Tuttle and Joe Kline; and three sisters. Source; The Southern Illinoisan, Tuesday, November 2, 1999, page 3B.
