Description:

I Philip Hagler of the County of Jackson in the state of Illinois being in sound mind and discretion and knowing that it is appointed unto man once to die do make this my last will and testament revoking all others in the manner and following to wit.
1st to my dear and beloved wife Catherine Hagler I will and bequeath my farm on which I now live and as much of the personal property as she may wish to keep for her support and all that money on hand after paying all my burial expenses and just claims against me,
2nd if there should be any personal property that my wife does not need or wish to keep for her support it is my wish that my children shall have an equal division of said property and they may divide the property or have it sold and divide the proceeds equal between them and at the death of my wife all the property both real and personal to be equally divided between my children,
3rd if my wife Catherine should ever change her name it is my wish that she shall have her dower and the remainder be equally divided among my children,
4th I do hereby constitute and appoint my son William Hagler executor of this my last will and testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of April A.D. 1853
