Mr. and Mrs Ralph Ernest Waldo, Sr., of 1118 Eighteenth street announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Helen, to Fred Snider Etherton, a navy ensign.
The wedding will take place Sunday, April 8, at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon at the Atherton chapel of the Central Union church at Honolulu, Hawaii. Reception will follow at Queen Serf.
The bride-elect, who studied business at the University of Colorado, has been with the post engineer service at Tripler Army hospital in Hawaii for the past three years.
Her fiance, the son of Mrs. Helen Jean Etherton and the late Dr. Etherton of Chicago, attended Southern Illinois university at Carbondale. He is with patrol squadron 6, stationed at Barber's Point, naval air station near Honolulu.
Ensign Etherton just returned from tour of duty in Japan. His squadron had been in the Korean fray since the beginning coming back to Barber's point Feb. 11. His group rated a place in Navy Neptunes, and article published in Collier's several months ago.
