CARBONDALE - Oscar Lee Etherton, 93, died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1986, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He had been a resident of Styrest Nursing Home.
He was a retired car inspector, having worked for Illinois Central Railroad from 1915 to 1960.
He held membership in the First Christian Church.
Born May 15, 1892, in Makanda, he was a son of Henry and Letha Clark Etherton.
On December 23, 1913 he married Stella Clyde Mann in Union County. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Curtis L. Etherton, Carbondale; two grandchildren, Robert Etherton and Richard Moore; and a great-grandson, Charles Oscar Etherton.
Mr. Etherton was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, James Samuel Etherton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Huffman Funeral Home, with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
