SARAH JANE WINCHESTER
Sarah Jane Lipe, of Boskydell, was born Aug 12., 1874. Departed this life May 18, 1914, aged 66 years, 9 months, 6 days. She was married Feb. 24, 1867 to Leroy Winchester, who preceded her to the better world almost 15 years. To this union were born 7 children, namely, Nancy A. Wiseman, Joseph R., Ruthie Bargesser, John, Frank, Mary Holliday and Bertha Holliday, all of whom have attended her in her last days.
Mrs. Winchester when a young girl gave her heart to God and united with the church of the Christian Order, remaining faithful to her God and the church of her choice. Endeavoring to rear her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. All these sons and daughters will feel the loss of this home-loving and earnest mother, but most of all perhaps she will be missed by her son, John, who only has been with his mother.
Left to mourn their loss, aside from the immediate family and children, are two brothers, Sampson Lipe of Carbondale, and William Lipe, whose home is in Oklahoma and numerous friends and neighbors.
The funeral service conducted by Rev. John Brewer was held at the home at 11 o'clock, May 19 and interment was made in the Stearns graveyard.
