James R. Etherton, 82, Marion, died at 1:05 p.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 in Miller's Merry Manor. He was born in Winslow, Indiana to the late James and Anna Etherton. He married Marguerite Hickson on May 3, 1952. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2006.
He retired from General Motors in 1993 after 36 years where he worked in the tool and die department. James was a member of the Local UAW, CPC Sympathy Club, Free Masons and the Scottish Rite. He was a United States Army veteran and was stationed in England where he met and married his wife, Marguerite. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and gardening. He loved to travel and had been to almost every state in the country.
Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Teter, Marion, Julie (Mark) Coryea, Marion; son, Robert (Pam) Etherton, Marion; grandchildren, Aaron Teter, Ethan Teter, both of South Carolina, Nick Coryea, Marion, Ryan Coryea, Marion, Kyle Coryea, Marion; sister-in-law, Bonnie Etherton, Bethesda, Md., nephews, Mark and David Etherton Bethesda, MD.
Preceded in death by wife, Marguerite Etherton; brothers, Donald Etherton and William Etherton.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Home, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN 46952. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 in the funeral home.
