Carl Isom Hagler, 91, died at 11 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, in Helia Health Care in Carbondale.
He was born July 6, 1915, to William Howard and Mayme Ethel (Gaston) Hagler.
He married Virginia Keeler on Nov. 18, 1939. She preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2001.
Mr. Hagler retired after 30 years as a painter at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church in Makanda.
He is survived by a son, Carl G. Hagler and his wife, Georgia, of Carterville; a brother, Don Hagler and his wife, Beulah, of Carbondale; two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, a great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Terry Hagler; a grandson, Glenn William Hagler; four sisters, Golda Doty, Mary Biggs, Daisy Hagler and Geneva Koester; and one brother, Ogle Hagler.
