MURPHYSBORO - Eugene A. Hagler Sr., 89, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, in Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, in Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Gilbert officiating, and entombment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Masonic Children's Home in Murphysboro.
Eugene was born on July 17, 1920 in Grand Tower, to Albert Hagler and Annie (Ferguson) Hagler. He had retired from Operating Engineer's Local 513. Mr. Hagler was a Mason, and a member of Elks and Moose Lodge in Murphysboro, and a member of Eagles Lodge in Carbondale.
Gene married Margaret E. Jolly and then later married MaryAnn Temple on May 12, 1979, in Harrison, and she survives.

He was preceded in death by one brother, four sisters and his parents.
