Jas. S. Wakefield, an old resident of the western part of this county, and one who has for many years been a very close observer of the weather, predicts a dry May, but thinks that farmers need not worry over tho prospects of the growing crops, as rain will come in abundance in the early part of June; his observation so far has led him to the conclusion that in this part of Iowa a long dry spell is almost certain at some time during year and that it is a favorable sign tor it to come in the early days of spring.
