Description:
I received an E-mail on January 6, 2000 from Doug Winemiller containing information on Coonrod Winemiller.
I am about 95% sure that Coonrod Winemiller is the son of Conrad Weinmueller. I don't have all of the information on my homepage, but I so have quite a large amount about the family. See http://www.cyberia.com/pages/winemiller.

There is another Conrad, son of the one in Germany. He came to the United States with his brother in 1738. Johannes is my direct relation. Johannes settled in York County, PA. He left lots of documents and is easy to trace. His brother Johann CONRAD (went by his middle name) evidently did not like the area in York County. He went west towards Pittsburgh. He di not leave as much documentation. There is evidence of him in Bedford County. I can find no record of his death, but did find a document that linked Conrad to Coonrad(not sure how because it was sent to me and I have not had the time to go to this area to verify it). I have found that there were many spelling errors that became permanent in the 1700's. Winemiller is spelled various ways--even on legal documents. According to my documents, Coonrod was born in 1785 in Allegheny County, Pitt Twp. The source listed is the Westmoreland County Historical Society. He is the son of one of Johann CONRAD's children and his name is probably a spelling variation that became official. This Conrad had three sons, Johann Casper (who became John), Jacob Sr., and in 1754, Conrad. I cannot tell you which would be the father.
