Billy Gene Moutell
MURPHYSBORO - Billy Gene Moutell, 58, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Murphysboro, died Monday, April 6, in Springfield, Mo.
Mr. Moutell was a retired master sergeant from the Army.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3404 and American Legion Post 676, both in Springfield, Mo. He was an Army veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He was born July 23, 1928, in Murphysboro to Ottie E. and Marian Potter Moutell.
Survivors include his wife, Karole Moutell; his mother, Marian Schwebel of Murphysboro; one daughter, Marian, of Germany; three sons, Billy Moutell of Germany and David and John Moutell, both of Springfield, Mo.; four sisters, Shirley Pender of Michigan, LaDonna Stearns of Fulton, Ky., Catherine Green of Belleville and Pauline Hale of Murphysboro; and two brothers, John Dale Penrod of Utah and Charles Moutell of Cape Girardeau.
Services were Thursday, April 9, in Green Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield, Mo.
