The People of the State of Illinois to all who have these prescuts, greeting. Know ye that license and permission are hereby given to any regular minister of the gospel, authorized to marry by the church or society to which he belongs, any justice of the supreme court, judge of any [?] county, or any justice of the peace. to celebrate and certify the marriage of Mr. Moses Phifer and Miss Elizaeth A. Golliher now both of this county, according to the usual custim and the laws of Illinois.
Witness John A. Logan clerk of the county of Jackson County Illinois and the seal [?] hereto affixed at Murphysboro this 12th December AS 1850..
This is to certify that on the 12th day of December AD 1850 I joined in the bonds of holy matrimony Mr. Moses Phifer and Miss Elizabeth A. Golliher according to the usual custom and the Laws of Illinois.
