Lavern Fisher, 58, of 408 S. 20th St., Murphysboro,was dead on arrival at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Sunday night. He had been ill for several years.
He was born June 12, 1914, in Murphysboro, to J. E. and Grace Hagler Fisher. He was married March 5, 1939, in Murphysboro to Fay Ferrill.
Mr. Fisher was a member of the Methodist Church and Elks Lodge 572 in Murphysboro. He was a retired car inspector for the Illinois Central Railroad.
Survivors include his wife; son, Edwin, Murphysboro; daughter, Judy Ann Bomgaars Libertyville; his parents, Murphysboro; and five grand-children.
