ETHERTON, Alta Margaret age 95, passed away August 25, 2007, in Lancaster. She was born December 6, 1911, in Ensign, Kansas and has lived in the Antelope Valley since 1948. Alta was a member of the Nazarene Church for many years and volunteered as a gray lady at AV Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, and two sons, Robert and Derald. Alta is survived by her son Floyd and his wife Connie Etherton of Locust Grove, Va.; one daughter, La Von Turley of Port Townsend, Wash., three daughters-in-law, Betty Etherton of Palmdale, Elizabeth Mahoney and Carolyn Etherton both of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, Steve Turley, Barry and Mark Etherton, Renee Handly, Dena La Rosa, David Turley, Cheryl Haynes, Kathy Perez, Shelly Atkinson and Mike Etherton, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy, Lancaster Chapel.
