William Park Etherton, 87, of Pace, FL went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan 15, 2010.

Park was born in Kansas City, MO. He enlisted in the Army and served in Europe during WWII. After the war, he met and married the love of his life, Betty.

He attended William Jewell College where he was a champion tennis player and a Kappa Alpha member. During a successful 35-year career as a research chemist, he invented many different types of paint and coatings. He was an avid golfer, bridge player, gardener, and cat fancier.

Throughout his life he served as an elder, deacon, and educator in several churches. Park was a long time member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, as well as a Mason and Shriner.

A loving husband and father, he is sadly missed by Betty, his wife of 62 years; his daughter, Mary Lynn and his son, Brad (Renata) as well as his four grandsons, their wives and five great-grandchildren.
