Betty Lorraine Etherton
November 29, 1926 - June 20, 2017
Betty Lorraine Etherton, 90, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
Betty was born in Iola, KS. She met the love of her life, Park Etherton, in Kansas City, MO at the end of World War II. During their 62 year marriage she provided a loving home while working in jobs as varied as switchboard operator, librarian, church secretary, fashion sales, and real estate sales. She was a strong, upbeat woman who courageously fought and won a battle with breast cancer. She made friends wherever she lived, always positively influencing those around her. She particularly enjoyed travel, bridge, church volunteer work, and British shows on public television.
A loving wife, Betty was preceded in death by Park in 2010. She is sadly missed by her daughter, Mary Lynn, her son, Brad (Renata), and four grandsons, their wives, and six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Auditorium at Azalea Trace, 10100 Hillview Dr., Pensacola, FL 32514. The family will receive guests an hour before the service and immediately following its conclusion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Betty's name to WSRE-TV Foundation, 1000 College Blvd., Pensacola FL 32504.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and volunteers at Covenant Care Hospice.
