Robert G. Turnage, 57, of Gilbert, Ariz., formerly of Murphysboro, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale.
He was born on July 24, 1942, in Murphysboro to Beulah Hagler Turnage and W.R. "Roy" Turnage.
He married Lois Elaine Jennings of Ava on Oct. 20, 1962.
Mr. Turnage was a 27-year veteran in the United States Air Force. He retired in 1984 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After retirement he settled in the Phoenix area where he was employed by Arizona State University.
Mr. Turnage was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Beulah Turnage; a brother, Glen Turnage; and by an infant son.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec 22, at the Christian Church in Gilbert, Ariz.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley in care of Falconer Funeral Home, 326 East Guadalupe Road in Gilbert, Ariz.
A 1960 graduate of Murphysboro High School, Bob had a strong affection for the southern Illinois area. He visited several local family members and friends as often as possible. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather brother and friend. All who knew and loved him will miss him immeasurably. He had a dedicated love of life and an unfailing faith in God.
