Funeral services for Woodrow Harry Pirtle will [be] held at 3 p.m. today in the Meredith Funeral Chapel in Grand Tower. Burial will be at the Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.
Mr. Pirtle, 70, of Athens, Ga., died at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 1983, in Athens, Ga.
He was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Grand Tower to Melvin B. and Mattie Etherton Pirtle. He was a former Grand Tower and St. Louis resident. His last job was a cashier at a gas station in Athens, Ga.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Feldman of Litchfield, Carol Milligan of Oklahoma City, Okla., Pat Sturdy of Kirkwood, Mo., and Dot Mikko of Athens, Ga.; two sons, Jim Pirtle of House Springs, Mo., and Gordon Pirtle of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Jim of Athens, Ga., Lloyd of O'Fallon, Mo., and Walter of Memphis, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
