Robert Paul "Bob" Bost

Robert Paul “Bob” Bost, 86, of Vergennes passed away at 3 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion. Bob was born March 6, 1933 in St. Louis, MO., a son to the late Wiley Joseph and Hallie Belle (Nausley) Bost. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro; a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, Bob was a retired co-owner and operator of Bost Trucking in Murphysboro. He was a member of the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 in Murphysboro, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7190 in Murphysboro and a member of the Murphysboro Masonic Lodge #498. Bob was united in marriage to Rose E. Parrish in Vergennes on September 21, 1957, Rose survives of Vergennes. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Burial with Military rites by American Legion Post 127 will follow at Parrish Cemetery in Vergennes. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Bost of Vergennes, one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and John of Louisville, KY., two sons and daughters-in-law, R. and K. Bost of Saint James, MO., and L. and C. Bost of Vergennes, one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Jim of Murphysboro, one brother, G. Bost of Murphysboro, and one sister-in-law, J. Bost of Murphysboro, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded by two brothers, Bill Bost and infant brother J.R. Bost.
