Betty Glodo, age 88, of East Cape passed away on April 28, 2021 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 11, 1933 in Gorham, IL to Charles and Mary (Lindsey) Qualls. She married Earlis Glodo on March 3, 1951. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage together.

Betty was a hairdresser for over 15 years, operating her shop out of her home. She owned and operated the Dollhouse Children’s Wear in Anna. She was an avid seamstress, often making elegant gowns for special occasions such as weddings and proms. Later in her career, she worked for her Son and Daughter-in-Law, Terry and Becky at Carpet and Floor center in Cape.

She was a charter member of the East Cape Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed sewing, Cardinals baseball, singing in a quartet at various churches and most of all, watching her grandchildren compete in all types of sports.

She is survived by her husband, Earlis Glodo of East Cape, IL; Children, Gordon (Cheryl) Glodo of Grand Tower, IL, Patti (Paul) Pinnon of Wolf Lake, IL, Lisa (Michael) Murphy of Wolf Lake, IL and Terry (Becky) of East Cape, IL; 9 Grandchildren, Phillip (Madison) Glodo of Marion, IL, Jennifer Glodo of Jonesboro, IL, Cory (Alex) Barker of Cape Girardeau, MO, Clay (Lindsay) Murphy of Springfield, MO, Haley (Nolan) Baltzell of Wolf Lake, IL, Katelyn (Will Bode) Glodo of Cape Girardeau, MO, Amanda (Paul) Leland of Jackson, MO, Brett Pinnon of Jackson, MO and Blake (Lindsey) Pinnon of Jackson, MO; 6 Great Grandchildren, Braxden Glodo, Christopher Glodo, Kendall Leland, Camden Leland, Clark Murphy, Charlotte Baltzell and Olivia Pinnon; Many other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her Parents; Siblings, Bill Qualls, Don Qualls and Marjorie Parker; Grandchildren, Anthony Pinnon and Christopher Barker.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Crain Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau with Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Residential Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home. Envelopes will be available.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Betty’s caregivers, Jennifer and Jessica with Residential Hospice for their excellent care.
