MURPHYSBORO -- Bertha E. "Bib" Hagler, 75, died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She was born on Dec. 24, 1931, in Carbondale to Johnny W. and Hattie Jewel (Keller) Bain.

She married James D. Hagler on Feb. 4, 1948, and they enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.

She was a homemaker and a housekeeper for many years for many people in the area.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James D. Hagler of Murphysboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James W. and Linda Hagler and Danny Hagler, all of Murphysboro; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and George Roddewig of Pardeeville, Wis., Charolette Lee of Murphysboro and Micki and Robert Jacquot of Nashville; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Imogene McCalla of Carbondale; one brother, Donald A. Bain of Murphysboro; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, in Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home, on old Illinois 13 between Carbondale and Murphysboro, with Mark Wingo officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to offset medical bills.
