Description:
James Logan King, 78, Carbondale, died Thursday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro, where he had been a patient four days.
Mr. King had been a patient at the Tyler Nursing Home, Murphysboro, for eight months.
He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church near Alto Pass.
He was born in Alto Pass, Sept 25, 1886, the son of William and Mary Elizabeth Smith King. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Trexler in Jonesboro in 1914. She died in 1954.
Mr. King leaves a daughter, Mrs. Loren Stearns; four sons, Harlan, James, Fred and Claude; a brother, Rollie; and two sisters, Josephine Sims and Agnes Davis.
