Wanda Faye Pate, née Morrison, 88, of La Mirada, California, passed away of natural causes. Born in Van Buren, Arkansas, Wanda moved with her family to Bell Gardens, California, in 1928. Wanda worked for many years as a secretary, office manager, and department manager for West American Rubber, McGaw Laboratories, Allergan IOLAB, and for public speaker and author Mark Victor Hansen. For the last 12 years she handled bookkeeping and payroll for Morrison Residential, Inc., a board-and-care corporation.
Wanda and her husband of 35 years, Ira Pate, loved to dance, travel, and spend time with friends and family. Wanda and Ira taught swing and Western line dancing around north Orange County and took many trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, and the continental United States. Wanda will be missed for her sharp wit, wisdom, and love of life.
Wanda is survived by husband, Ira; children, Billy Traver, Dane Traver, Karen (Marta) Vipperman (Howard) and Mark Smallwood (Taffy); step-children, Marty Brooks, Jerry Pate and Tammy Osmus (Alex); brothers, Dewel, Edward, Donald, Ronald and James Morrison; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Traver; and her grandson, Jeremy Schiro.
A memorial service for Wanda will be held at 11:00 a.m. this Friday, September 4th, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 111 West Las Palmas Drive, Fullerton, CA 92835.
