Roger Lee “Bubby” Ellis, age 69 of Murphysboro, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born February 26, 1954 in Murphysboro to James and Eula (Hagler) Ellis, Sr.
He was a landscaper and was in the lawn care business.
Roger is survived by his sister, Sharon Compton; nephew, Roger “Connie” Compton of DeSoto; nephew, David Compton of Elkville; nephew, Allen “Sandra” Compton of Ava; nephew, Timmy Tolbert of Murphysboro; nephew, Billy Ellis of DuQuoin; and niece, Linda Ellis of DuQuoin; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Aldeane Ellis, Jr.; and his nephew, Roy Compton.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 1:30 pm in Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro with Frank Cano officiating. Interment will follow in Murdale Gardens of Memory.
Visitation for Roger Lee “Bubby” Ellis will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of love may be directed to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
