Richard "Rick" Wayne Etherton, 65, of Hodgenville, passed away after complications from a repaired rupture Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at CHI Saint Joseph Health - Continuing Care, Saint Joseph Hospital, in Lexington.
He was born September 25, 1958, in Sylvester, Georgia. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son. He was an amazing illustrator and photographer. He loved old cars, was a big fan of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth illustration artist of RatFink and being on his family farm.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Otis Etherton, step mother, Betty Etherton and step father Dave Fultz.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Etherton of Hodgenville; his mother, Betty Fultz of Hodgenville; a step daughter, Olivia (Ethan) Blunk of Minot, ND; a step son Tyler (Evangeline) Litton; three grandchildren, Carraway, Dexter, and Luca-Grey of Lakewood, WA; a sister in law, Kira Prewitt; two nephews Jake (Ashley) Hatcher and Luke Eddy of Lexington; a special Uncle Raymond and Aunt Mavis of Georgia. Aunt Christine and several cousins.
Rick was in the hospital for 35 days. The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, surgeons, CNAs, nutritionists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and janitorial staff for taking great care of Rick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Blake Durrett officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please donate blood, plasma, or platelets.
Rick’s pallbearers will be Tyler Litton, Ethan Blunk, Joe Edlin, Jake Hatcher, Luke Eddy and Jason Perry.
