William "Bill" Hinchcliff, Jr., 73, of Carbondale, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. He was born to William and Bernece (Parrish) Hinchcliff, Sr., on April 11, 1943 in Carbondale. He married the love of his life, Sheryl Horecker on June 12, 1964. Together they shared 51 years.
He retired from Union County Hospital as an IT Specialist. He was a camera enthusiast, capturing all kinds of wonderful pictures. He loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid Nascar fan. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and National MG Club. He was a Mason.
Bill's greatest joy of his life was spending quality time with his daughters and precious grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl Hinchcliff of Carbondale; daughters, Leah Hinchcliff and partner, Nancy Breaux of Portland, OR; Laurel "Laurie" (Richard) Stoll of Bolingbrook; and Lynda (Steve) Lentini of Plainfield; his grandchildren, Josh, Emily, Hannah, Braden and Dominic; a sister, Betty Green of Texarkana; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, R.D. Hinchcliff.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
