Pioneer Farmer Dies Near Alto

Wes Pirtle, a prominent pioneer farmer, died Wednesday at his home on the western-country side of town at the ripe old age of 84 years. He had been feeling in bad health for some time, but death came unexpected. The deceased had spent almost the entire years of his life in this vicinity and was known for his honest, upright Christian life. He is survived by two brothers, Jim of Grand Tower and Luther of Alto Pass; two sisters, Mrs. J. Frost and Mrs. Caroline Nipper, of Alto Pass; one son and two daughters, besides a host of other relatives. Funeral will be conducted from the Baptist church. Interment in the Alto Pass cemetery.
