Some people belive tha Aaron was the father of two sons...Joshua and John. I don't know that for sure...but thought I'd pass it along. Wilson Perry Etherton was my ggg great grandfather. Here's what I have. He was b. June 22, 1823 in KY. and d. March 24, 1887 in Mercer Co., MO. He married SARAH CAROLINE THROGMORTON..(some spelled it THROGMARTIN). She was the da. of Joseph Throgmorton and Nancy--- . Wilson was a private in the Civil war, Co., C 25th Mo Inf. Sarah came to Missouri in 1831. She couldn't read or write. Their children were: 1.MARY JANE b. 1849 Ray Co., MO. She m. ---MCLAUGHLIN. 2. JOSHUA b. 1844, Mercer Co, MO. He m. ELIZABETH FLOWERS, Oct. 3, 1872 in Grundy Co., MO. 3. JOHN b. July 16, 1847 in Mercer Co., d. Oct. 1, 1935 in Spickard, Grundy Co., MO.(he was my gg grandfather.)4.MANERVA b. 1849. 5. JOSEPH b. 1851. 6. SARAH b. 1852. 7. AMANDA b. 1854, Mercer Co. m. LAURA b. 1863 Mercer Co. Laura was a servant for the POWELL family that lived in Washington Township, Mercer Co., MO. in 1880. Next generation...#3 JOHN ETHERTON m. LEORA FLOWERS, Sept. 9, 1870 in Spickard, Grundy Co., MO. Her parents were DAVID FLOWERS and PHOEBE---. Notes on JOHN. He died while his grand daughter, RUTH SCHOOLER HAMMONS and her family were visiting from Yuba City, Sutter Co., CA. Her da. LA VERDA RUTH was only 7 at the time but remembers it well. She said that John was a tall man. He was very ill and died while they were there. He had cancer and was being cared for in a bedroom of his da. CARRIE'S home. After he died, the women in the family prepared him for buriel. His casket was put on the dining room table chairs in the living room. The funeral was held there. Carrie didn't have enough chairs for the funeral so all the neighbors brought their own. An interesting thing was that a man that had once lived in this same house had hung himself in the closet of that bedroom. JOHN is buried at the Masonic Cemetery in Spickard. This is JOHN ETHERTON b. July 16, 1847 that follows: His wife LEORA was b. August 22, 1854 in TN. She died 1920 in MO. Their children were: 1.METTIE B. b. Feb. 14, 1872 in Spickard, Grundy Co., MO...(this town was originally called SPICKARDSVILLE). She died Dec. 18, 1954 in Des Moines IA. She married CHARLES EDWARD CLEMENS on July 26, 1889. Their children were a.ABE who married Rosa THARP and b.ADA (that I know of.) (For some reason Mettie and Charles also raised Abe and Rosa's children) Charles Edward Clemens was b. May 3, 1869 in Spickard and died May 15, 1955 in Des Moines. His parents were EBB Clemens and HANNAH---. 2. CARRIE VIRD was b. June 28, 1873 in Spickard and died Dec. 25, 1952 inTrenton, Grundy Co. She married Feb. 21, 1892 to Geo. Edward Schooler in Spickard. (they divorced years later.) He was b. Jan. 19, 1873 in Spickard. D. May 22, 1956 in Chillicothe, Livingstone Co., MO. GEORGE EDWARD SCHOOLER and CARRIE VIRD ETHERTON had the following children: 1. GOLDIE LEE SCHOOLER b. Nov. 13, 1893 in Browning, Mercer Co., MO. She d. Dec. 7, 1963 in MO. Feb. 26, 1912 in Princeton. D. Feb. 25, 1977. She m. HERSHAL SIMPSON. C. JOSEPH EDWARD b. July 25,-- in Princeton. m. JEAN-.-- D. ELMA LOUIZA b. July13,---in Princeton, m. RAYMOND W. PETERSON. E. MARY LEE b. April 29, 1923 in Princeton, m. J.B. LEYDA . F. GRACE LA VERNE b. Nov. 4, 1924 in Princeton, m. KEN BISHOP. I think she died near Redding Ca. Child #2. (of Ed and Carrie) RUTH..she had no middle name ever. She was b. June 1, 1895 in Spickard. She died of heart failure March 14, 1969 in Oroville, Butte Co., CA. She is buried in Chico, Butte Co., CA. She m. 1st to JAMES LEE HAMMONS on Sept. 8, 1912 in Spickard. She was m. 2nd to ACE LEWISTON HOLLIS on May 1, 1958 in Fernley NV. She and James were divorced abt. 1952. He was the son of JAMES HENRY HAMMONS who was b. in Millgrove, Mercer Co. and Delila Katherine Vanderpool who was b. in Ray Co., MO. James Lee died of burns recieved from a fire in Princeton, CA. in Colusa, CA. on June 29,1955. and is buried at Sutter cem. in Sutter, CA. He was b. March 6, 1891 in Ruskin, Nuckolls Co., NE. The children of Ruth and James, (called Lee) are: A. JAMES EDWARD b. Feb. 10, 1914 in Washington township, Mercer Co. MO. and died, (suicide) March 5, 1940 near Pennington, Sutter Co., CA. ...if you want all of my generation, let me know. He married 1.HAZEL PRISCILLA MORRISON and 2. ALICE JANE ERNST. 1 child by each wife. He is buried at Sutter Cemetery, Sutter Co., Sutter, CA. B. FOREST ELVIN was b. Sept. 28, 1916 in Pocotello, ID. He married MURIEL HARPER in June, 1937 in Ogden, UT. 2 children He died of Pancreatic Cancer on Oct. 27, 1979 in Seattle. WA. ...ashes scattered. C. DONALD EARL b. Jan 30, 1919 in Trenton, Grundy Co., MO. Married 3 times...1. JUANITA DRAPER 2. RUBY JEAN KERR and 3.ANNA MARY PATOCKA...4 children . He is still living. 4. LA VERDA RUTH b. March 24, 1928 in Marysville, Yuba Co, CA. m. 3 times.. DONALD HODGEMAN, LEON HALL and ORVIL F. (PAT) GRUWELL She has 6 children. She is still alive. 5. AUBREY DUANE, (called BUCK by his family) He was b. May 15, 1930 in Gridley, Butte Co., CA. He was m. 4 times..PATRICIA MAYHEW, LEE--, DAVETTA--, LINDA---.no children. He died of Prostate Cancer on Nov. 4, 1994 and is buried at Lone Mountain cem. in Carson City, Carson Co., NV. 6. ARLIE WAYNE b. April 14, 1931 in Franklin Corners near Yuba City, Sutter Co., CA. He married 1st to BETTY LOUISE DRENNEN on Mar. 28, 1951 in Reno, Washoe Co., NV. They had 7 children. Divorced. next m. Diana, she died. next m. Charlotte, divorced. next m. Liz..she died. He m. BERTHA SCOTT who was b. in Hamilton, MO. Their children were:A. PAUL SCOTT...B. JOHN EDWARD...C. LOIS...D. MARILYN...E. WINONA....F. female..Child #5, HARLEY PORTER, (called PORTER>) He was b. May 4, 1907 Spickard. died June 27, 1933 Trenton. Buried next to his mother in trenton. He broke up with his girlfriend and drank lye..Lingered four days begging his mother to save him. Child #6 OLIVE NADINE, (called Nadine) b. Feb. 10, 1910 in Spickard. She married May 30, 1931 to JASON MERRILL HARRIS on May 30, 1931. They had 1 child. Nadine d. around 1997 in Trenton. 7. BEATRICE SUNSHINE (called Betty) She was b. Feb. 7, 1912 in Spickard. She was m. 2 times. 1 was a HORACE WILLIAMS and the other was a Mr. Hilburn. Don't know who was 1st. no children. She d. SHELTON on May 12, 1903 in Grundy Co. #5 STELLA was b. abt. 1886 in Spickard. She m. CLAUDE MC CRACKEN on Jan. 22, 1905 in Grundy, Co. She died in Des MOINES, IA. Claude was b. abt. 1885 in MO. Her father and mother were, JOHN T. DAVIS b. Oct. 31, 1812 in KY. He married MAGARET MOORE who was b. Nov. 22, 1817 in Madison Co., IL. John's parents were DENNIS DAVIS b. Feb. 5, 1791 in MD. he m. JOANNA THOMAS b. Sept. 1, 1791 in SC. Dennis and Joanna had another son who was Morman. His name was JOSHUA. He had 3 wives and about 27 children. This info. about Davis' was sent to me about a hundred years ago by the grand daughter of JOHN LUTHER ETHERTON. She was getting her info from her grandmother who was about 90 and out of bible. JOHN LUTHER, born Aug. 15, 1886 in Caldwell Co., MO d. 1966 m. WILLIE MAE NIEL CRAIG on Aug. 24, 1910. Willie Mae claimed the courthouse burned up with her birth cert. but Carolyn figured out whe the courthouse burned and stated that her grandmother Willie was born Oct. 9, 1889 or 90. Willie Mae was the da. of FRANCIS ERVIN CRAIG b. Apr. 12, 1865 in Williamson Co., IL. he married Martha Alverne Clapper on Dec. 31, 1885. She was b. Oct. 10, 1866 in Adams Co., IL. FRANCIS was the son of DAVID CRAIG and ANNA RAMSEY. MARTHA was the da. of NEPHIE CLAPPER b. 1842, IL m. 1863 IL. to ELLEN WRIGHT b. 1837 KY. Carolyn states that her Grandfather, JOHN LUTHER had siblings, HENRY CLAYTON..1879-1929....WILLIAM FRANKLIN..1881-1884...MARGARET ELIZABETH..1884-1968...JAMES THOMAS..1896-1960. JAMES THOMAS had a son, JAMES PERRY.
