deceased, for the letters of administration to

Wm C Etherton.

To the Hon. Geo W Andrews, judge of the county court of Jackson County in the state of Illinois: The petition of the undersigned,

J W. Grammer, Sr,

respectfully represents that

Solomon Lipe,

late of the County of Jackson aforesaid, departed this life at his residence in said county, on or about the

last days of February A.D. 1882,

leaving no last will and testament as far as your petitioner knows or believes, except the instrument in writing hereto annexed, and this petition further shows that the said

Solomon Lipe

died, seized and possessed of no real estate, and personal estate consisting chiefly of some money on hand & perhaps some other personal property all of said personal estate being estimated to be worth about fifty and 50/100 dollars. That said deceased left surviving him

Easter Lipe as his widow and Mary Lipe, Mariah Lipe and Eliza Jane Lipe - now Fleming - as his only children , and also left some grandchildren, being heirs of Peter Lipe, dec'd

as heirs. That your petitioner (being named as executor in said instrument in writing, being presents same, & declines to qualify as such of said deceased) and believing that the said estate should be immediately administered, as well for the proper management of said property as for the prompt collection of the assets, by virtue of his right under the statute he therefore prays that your honor will grant letters of administration to

Wm C Etherton.

upon his presenting to the court the widow's relinquishment to administer in said estate - the said

Hamilton Lipe

being now dead leaving no issue & no widow, and said annexed writing being not admitted to probate, & its conditions broken, in the premises, upon his taking the oath prescribed by the statute, and entering into bond in such sum and with such securities, as may be approved by your honor.
