Deed
This Indenture made and entered into this seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four, Between
Philip Hagler and Jane [Ann Etherton) his wife, and William A[nderson] Etherton and Lucinda [Hagler] his wife, and James A[lexander] Etherton and Anna [Cook] his wife, Moses Faubian and Mariam [Etherton] his wife, and Alvin H. Etherton of the County of Jackson & State of Illinois of the first
and
John W Robinson of the County and State aforesaid of the second part
Witness, that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five dollars [$25] to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained & sold & by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said party of the second part his heirs & assigns forever, all and singular the following described land situate,
lying and being in Jackson County and State of Illinois and designated as follows, the undivided fourth part of the North East part of the South East qt of section Twenty one, Township Ten South of Range No Two West containing ten acres
said and was granted by Patten from
the United States to Micajah Etherton [1834] and
by deed from Micajah Etherton & wife to Samuel Etherton [1840] &
by Samuel Etherton & wife to William A Etherton, James A Etherton, Alvin H Etherton, Macajah H Etherton [1842]
and the said Micajah H Etherton having departed this life and leaving the above mentioned Philip Hagler and Jane his wife, & William A Etherton and Lucinda his wife, James A Etherton & Anna his wife, Moses Faubien and Mariam his wife, and Alvin H. Etherton
as the only heirs at Law of the said Micajah H. Etherton Deceased do grant Convey & confirm unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances the unto belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the above foregoing premises unto the said party of second part his heirs and assigns forever,
and the said Philip Hagler and Jane his wife, and William A Etherton & Lucinda his wife, James A Etherton and Anna his wife, Moses Faubian & Mariam his wife, and Alven H Etherton the aforesaid premises unto the said John W Robinson of the second part his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim or claims of all persons whomsoever and will warrant and defend these presents.

I the undersigned and acting Justice of the peace within and for the said County , do hereby certify that Philip Hagler and Jane his wife, and William A Etherton and Lucinda his wife, James A Etherton and Anna his wife, and Moses Faubion and Mariam his wife, and Alvin H Etherton whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, as having executed the same this day appeared before me, and acknowledged that they had signed sealed and delivered the same as these free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein expressed,
And Jane Hagler, Lucinda Etherton, and Anna Etherton, & Mariam Faubion wives of the said Philip Hagler, William A Etherton, James A Etherton, & Moses Faubian having been by me made acquainted with the contents of said deed and being by me examined seperate and apart from there said husband, acknowledged that they had executed the same and relinquished her right of dower in and to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of these said husbands,
